A lower cost range of Micro Modular and Micro Fixed variants of this equipment are also available.

Communication options are radio, cable (copper or fibre), infrared, leased line telephone, dial up telephone, ISDN and GSM mobile. Point to point or multi-drop communications are possible, the standard protocol supporting up to 256 outstations in the multi-drop mode. Various UHF radio equipment types are available using the de-regulated MPT1329 telemetry bandwidth operating at 458MHz frequency, with up to 500mW RF power. Equipment can be supplied for simplex, half duplex operation with or without frequency synthesis.

Protocol converters are also available to convert non byte format data into byte form suitable for computer based products and a video switching matrix system controllable from a Personal Computer is also available.

Orion is a System Integrator for the Nemasoft Paragon SCADA software package and is able to offer full turnkey systems using this and other products. These packages run on a number of Operating Systems including Windows 95/98/NT.

The company has also developed a range of Windows based control software to interface with the System 2000 product range when the facilities of a comprehensive SCADA software package are not required.
